Quick poll, friends! In a fic where Rangers otherwise refer to each other as name, and most of them are friends but one isn't, is it weird for them to refer to each other as (Colour) when they're morphed? I did it to differentiate morphed mindset from regular mindset, but my beta thinks it's strange and she's usually on the ball, so now I don't know what to do!

I'd guess "not weird," assuming they were doing it for a reason? (For what it's worth, it's super hard for me to remember to call friends by new names ever, let alone under stress, but I'm sure Rangers have better memories than I do!)

Wait, did the Rangers do that in "Aftermath"? I did think it was weird in Aftermath, because it came out of nowhere, but I had a lot of problems with the characterization in that comic. Mostly Jason's :)

As far as my memory goes the Rangers tend not to refer to each other by color unless they're super upset at each other- and I think it's kinda implied the Rangers hear each other talking through their helmets, which means it should be safe to speak each other's name- so it's a little strange canon-wise, but hey, who cares about canon?

I'd think it's okay if you're consistent, especially if (like Starandrea says) you give a reason for it.
